  1. Hi David whanted to know what quind of brand on rear sight and front sight dind you change on your 10/22 takedown
    Great video by the way

  2. I love the 10/22 platform to death. It was my first gun, and to this day it remains my favorite .22lr. With that said, in a survival situation I’d much rather have a reliable bolt-action. A semiautomatic seems risky to me, too many moving parts that could fail.

  3. I have the 10/22 takedown with a 18.5in barrel. I went with the magpul backpacker stock, weaver see through rings, a nikon prostaff 3-9x, and hiviz fiber optic sights.

Yeah, it is heavy for a bug out weapon. But, for practical everyday fun it can’t be beat! I can use both scope and sights because of the receiver mounted rings! This is my first rifle and I am loving it!

Also, I do not know if you covered ammo. According to my research, CCI Velocitors are the best 22lr ammo you can buy. 40 grain hollow point at 1450fps. To my knowedge, anything faster is a lighter grain bullet. In my opinion that makes the Velocitors the all around best 22lr survival round.

  4. Ruger 10/22 takedown is a great rifle but I will say it’s not without its quirks. The barrel lockup can suffer some flex if you mount a sling and tug hard or don’t tighten up the lockup. If you want a pure competition gun, get a standard 10/22 and a bull barrel. If you want a rifle you will never use unless there’s an emergency, consider the Henry AR 7 because the barrel is quite inferior to the Ruger. If you want an all around good option, probably best in class 22lr for survival, range, light competition, a 10/22 takedown isn’t too bad.
