  1. The fact is that humans have been poisoning this planet for far too long. We live in a snowglobe so there is no “clean up”, it will always be here. The only thing we can do is not make it worse and hope the uncontrollable elements, such as meteors/the sun/etc, don’t wipe us out. Humans are so entitled…

  3. Guy is the only scientist on the list of truth .. he is also very well informed .. alarmist is mild compared to where we are at .. alarmist is just another idiot in the shit pile.. it is happening .. you can bury your head in the uranium but it is going to happen.. it is already happing .. anyone that does not pay attention to factual evidence and the physics .. the only way out is environmental collapse and that is what is coming.. because we all know our history and today is another day in history .. is it going to change??? you bet it is .. and the change is going to be so so horrible you will not even be able to fathom what is coming ..

  4. Hi CP, my admiration for you just grew a bit higher. It takes a lot of balls to present GuyMcPherson, specially if you’re not 100% convinced. So I salute your courage.

But as you asked for our opinions here comes a long, personal post: I do agree to him, so next to all your advice that I follow hoping that GMcP is wrong, I include prepping for a self-controlled end which is in my opinion the most forgotten prep everybody should have: a painless path out of this life for me and my family.
You don’t want to watch your family slowly starve to death or being slaughtered by cannibals or undergoing slow and inefficient suicide attempts. Watch “the road” to get an idea.

But here’s my point about the CO2 debate, which you, CP, started but didn’t finish: the profit motive. You did mention the obvious fossil fuel industry interest, but you should also make a search for the petro-dollar to see, why the Saudi-Aramco minister said “keeping the world dependent on oil as long as possible is important”. On top of that:
carbon taxes to and fro (I also doubt it will work, check out Derrick Jensen for the reasons), what do the scientists get from warning about global warming? absolutely nothing! certainly no share in the collected carbon taxes. I’ve been a scientist myself for almost a decade until I bailed out. We (I just include myself again for now) don”t get any bonus for publishing anything, the institute actually has to pay the journal for publishing. Most scientists don’t even have permanent positions, and no-one dares to publish anything unproven, since being found stupid kills all your hopes for a permanent job in academia. Salaries are fixed and ridiculously low. The yearly profit of ExxonMobil alone is larger than the entire budged for climate research (including simple weather forecast) of the entire US academia and NASA. Working hours are crazy, private life is always secondary and for what all this suffering? to get called nerd by the girls and watch all the financial profits for your inventions being snatched up by some fu….g stupid manager or CEO (that’s what I endure right now as an engineer). Scientists don’t go into science for the money, its for the passion of knowing the truth, and I really regret having left, now that I work for money like a mercenary. And: no offense, but we don’t give a sh..t for the opinion of people who don’t even remotely understand how the smart phone in their hand operates, which is 99.99999% of world population (rough estimate).

So why do scientists ring the alarm bell about CO2 induced global-warming/climate-change/upcoming-climate-chaos since 70 years if it’s neither for money nor for fame? Anyone here to believe that we actually care for the fate of our kids, as most people SHOULD do enough, not to start playing russian roulette with our childrens future? Could you imagine, loading a 100 chamber revolver, load 99 chambers (representing the consensus of scientists on climate change), hold the gun to your kids head and pull the trigger, just to win an SUV, in case no shot is released? I hope not, yet that’s exactly what climate change deniers do, and that’s my point point about the climate change debate: even if you distrust scientists for whatever (to me) mysterious reason (we gave you the high-tech-machine in front of your nose amongst other things):

You should love the life of the planet and your children enough not to take any risks.

    1. +1vor12 Dokus Thanks for sharing, how about research grants for pro climate change research? Is that a thing?
